Business Voice Membership Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions govern membership of and participation in Business Voice by Insight Survey. They should be read together with the Business Voice Privacy Notice and any additional conditions shown for a specific research activity.
Business Voice is intended for people aged 18 or older who have genuine business, professional or industry experience relevant to the community. Membership may include business owners, entrepreneurs, executives, managers, professionals, sole proprietors and other business decision-makers or influencers. Insight Survey may decline or review membership where eligibility cannot reasonably be confirmed.
Membership is personal to the registered member. Members may hold one active account unless Insight Survey approves an exception. Login details and personal survey links must not be shared. Members are responsible for keeping their account reasonably secure and for reporting suspected unauthorised access.
Members must provide information that is honest and materially accurate to the best of their knowledge and should update important profile information when it changes. Insight Survey may use reasonable verification measures, including email or mobile verification, publicly available business information, professional profiles and duplicate-account or response-pattern checks.
Participation in individual surveys, polls, interviews, focus groups and other research activities is voluntary. Members may decline an invitation without cancelling their membership. Membership does not guarantee a minimum number of invitations or a minimum level of rewards.
Research invitations may be targeted according to a member's profile and the requirements of a particular study. Screening questions may be used to confirm eligibility. A survey may close when the required number of responses has been reached or when a specific quota is full.
Members must complete research activities personally and provide genuine, considered responses based on their own experience. Duplicate participation, deliberately false information, automated responses, copied answers, bots, scripts or other activity that materially compromises research quality is not permitted.
Members must not claim a role, seniority, ownership position, purchasing authority or area of expertise that they do not hold. Unless a research activity clearly states otherwise, members participate in their own professional capacity and should not present their answers as an employer's official position unless authorised to do so.
Some research activities may include unreleased products, services, advertising, pricing, strategies, documents, concepts or other confidential material. Where an activity is identified as confidential, members must not copy, photograph, record, publish, distribute or use that material outside the research activity without permission.
Members remain responsible for obligations owed to employers, clients, businesses and professional bodies. Do not disclose trade secrets, customer information, passwords, protected financial records, privileged information or information subject to a confidentiality agreement unless authorised to do so.
Members must communicate professionally and respectfully. Threatening, abusive, discriminatory, defamatory, fraudulent or unlawful content, spam, unauthorised advertising, privacy violations and security threats are not permitted. Insight Survey may moderate or remove content where reasonably necessary to protect the community.
Members retain ownership of original content they submit. By submitting content for a research activity, the member permits Insight Survey and the relevant research client to store, analyse, summarise, translate and use that content for the disclosed research purpose, including in aggregated or de-identified outputs. Additional permission will be sought before deliberately using a member's name, recognisable image, attributed quotation or named business case in public material unless that use was clearly agreed in advance.
Business Voice may not be used to sell to members, harvest member contact details, recruit members into unrelated databases or panels, distribute unsolicited messages, conduct unauthorised research or gather confidential competitor information. Any approved networking or partner activity will be clearly identified and voluntary.
Some research activities may offer a Voice Reward. The reward value is set per survey or activity and will be disclosed before participation. Where a Voice Reward is offered, qualifying members may choose a Takealot voucher for the stated value or donate the equivalent value to one of the selected charity partners available at that time. The available charity partners may change from time to time.
Qualifying Voice Rewards will be processed within 5 business days after the relevant survey has closed, subject to successful completion, eligibility and reasonable quality checks. Takealot vouchers will be issued for the survey-specific value. Where the member chooses a charity donation, the equivalent value will be processed as a donation on the member's behalf.
As a standard rule, no Voice Reward is payable where a member does not qualify after screening or where the required quota is reached before the member completes the survey. A particular survey may use a different arrangement only where that exception is clearly stated before participation.
Members are responsible for keeping the email address linked to their Business Voice account accurate so that voucher communications and reward-related notices can reach them. Questions about a missing voucher, reward status or charity selection should be sent to [email protected]. Where a technical or delivery issue is confirmed, Insight Survey will take reasonable steps to investigate and resolve it.
Insight Survey may withhold or cancel a Voice Reward where there is reasonable evidence of duplicate participation, fraud, material misrepresentation, automated participation, incomplete participation contrary to stated reward conditions or serious response-quality concerns. Where appropriate, the member may contact support to request a review.
Personal and professional information will be processed in accordance with the Business Voice Privacy Notice and applicable South African data-protection requirements, including POPIA. Members may request access, correction or other available privacy rights through [email protected].
Business Voice uses QuestionPro and may use approved communication, verification, voucher, charity-donation, cloud, security or other service providers. These providers may process information only as required for their approved service and subject to applicable contractual and data-protection requirements.
Insight Survey will take reasonable steps to operate Business Voice reliably but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Maintenance, internet failures, supplier outages, security events or circumstances beyond reasonable control may interrupt an activity. Members should report technical problems promptly where they may affect participation or a reward.
Insight Survey may mark an account inactive where there has been an extended period of no meaningful engagement or where contact details no longer work. Where practical, the member may be contacted before an inactive account is closed and may be asked to refresh their profile before reactivation.
Insight Survey may warn, restrict, suspend or close an account where there is reasonable evidence of false information, duplicate accounts, impersonation, account sharing, fraudulent or automated participation, confidentiality breaches, abusive conduct, security threats or repeated material breaches of these Terms. The action taken should be proportionate to the seriousness of the issue.
Members may change communication preferences or leave Business Voice at any time using the available portal options or by contacting support. After account closure, ordinary research invitations will stop. Completed research, de-identified information and records that must lawfully be retained may continue to be held in accordance with the Privacy Notice.
Business Voice articles, Insight Drops, Business Pulse results, community discussions and other general content are provided for information and research engagement. They should not be treated as legal, financial, tax, investment, medical or other professional advice.
To the extent permitted by law, Insight Survey is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from platform interruption, a member's reliance on general community information, unauthorised use of an account caused by inadequate credential protection, or third-party services outside Insight Survey's reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Insight Survey may update these Terms when the community, technology, reward programme, research methods or applicable requirements change. The current version will show its effective date. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate and additional consent will be obtained where legally required.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Members are encouraged to raise concerns with Insight Survey first so that they can be investigated and resolved. Where appropriate, a matter may also be referred to the relevant regulator, ombud, mediator or court.
